In order to answer this question, we should first answer another. Why do our guests give us presents?
At Zankyou we believe that, unfortunately, wedding presents today are becoming a meaningless exercise. It’s just about paying for an invitation. While this is a great help for the bride and groom, the wedding becomes a mere celebration and loses its symbolic meaning as the beginning of a new stage in the couple’s relationship. In other words, the wedding becomes a trade agreement and the present becomes an operation between bride and groom and their guests.
For us, what really makes a wedding meaningful is the idea of being able to help the couple in their new adventure. The nice thing about giving a present is that your guests are making a specific contribution to a couple’s projects and dreams – a trip, furniture for their new house, a charitable project, etc.
