It was the month of December in the year 2017 when Cian invited his partner Laura to spend a few days at The Lyrath Hotel in Kilkenny, the scene of their first trip as a couple, four years earlier. During a romantic walk near the falls, Cian got down on one knee (as per tradition) and asked Laura to marry him. There told the first chapter of the union of two soul mates, two singles who are ready to exchange a promise for lifetime…

The wedding between Cian and Laura was hosted not in Ireland, the land of origin and the house of the spouses, but in the romantic setting of the Castle of Montignano, a renowned relais in the province of Perugia, an ideal setting for a fairy-tale wedding. The Castle is an original medieval village with ancient history, built in 962 AD and carefully maintained over centuries, recently renovated to combine the beauty of the antique with the refinement and practicality of contemporary design. An oasis of peace and elegance immersed in a green park and equipped with a swimming pool in front which directly overlooks the Martani Mountains. Laura and Cian therefore wanted to entrust the organisation of their wedding to the care and experience of Beatrice, trusted wedding planner of the Castello di Montignano for her creativity, passion for her work and the very high quality of services that is able to offer newlyweds, even for international couples who do not have the opportunity to follow every step of the wedding planning step by step and in person.

Beatrice, from Castello di Montignano, closely followed all the stages of preparation for this romantic ceremony, starting with the dressing of the very excited spouses. The groom’s suit is a classic tailored cut model in blue by Dorian Black, while the choice for the bride’s dress is a splendid, charming mermaid wrap model, with precious details embroidered on the bodice signed Alena Leena and selected in the Alice May Bridal boutique from Dublin, who also made the magnificent veil edged like the dress, long and elegant, pinned on the soft collection of hair, styled by Lauteri Terni. A simple and elegant make-up frames the bride’s face and lights up her deep look thanks to Janita Helov’s make up artist.

Inside the walls of the Castle of Montignano, the civil ceremony was also celebrated, set up in the romantic olive tree park of the Castle, framed by a simple arch on which ivy climbs and a bouquet of roses in soft pastel colours, matching the the bride’s bouquet and the floral details that embellish the already splendid estate. All of this? The result of the creative work of Mariana Flower Stylist, the Castle’s trusted supplier. The arrival of the bride on her father’s arm, with her five bridesmaids and preceded by the flower girl and the page boy, was a moving moment for all the friends and relatives of the couple.

After the ceremony, a splendid buffet of appetisers were served by the pool, a spectacular setting illuminated by the warm sunset light, with the Castle as a backdrop and prelude to an evening of celebrations and happiness! The wedding banquet was set up beside the pavilion of olive trees, the wedding table, together with the families and witnesses, at the centre of a long table arranged in a horseshoe with numerous hanging candles to create a starry sky effect. The traditional speeches of the parents and witnesses were not missing; the raised glasses, the soft light of the candles, the romantic pastel-coloured floral centrepieces to complete a perfect picture, up to the long-awaited cutting of the cake.

After the cutting of the wedding cake and the first toast as husband and wife, the desserts were served in the stone rooms of the Castle, followed by the party with the band and DJ set all night long!

The wedding of Cian and Laura was then celebrated for three whole days, involving the 120 guests who arrived specially from Dublin and not only in wonderful convivial moments, in games, dances and sharing of Italian traditions, starting with the fun Pizza Night in the medieval village, an informal event that saw the setting up of an imperial table along the entire Borgo del Castello on the evening before the wedding. On the third day, instead, to greet each other and not miss anything, the newlyweds organised a BBQ with a pool party. Many details that recall the Italian-ness of the location, as well as the choice to use the old Cinquecento of many colours for the newlyweds and their witnesses!
